Normal missiles are still very useful in just about any combat situation, though. In Super Metroid and Samus Returns Super Missiles are a huge damage increase from normal missiles, but they're rarer. I do think that the weapon select isn't really a problem witha bit of practice, and I really want them to bring back an equipment menu rather than just combine all the beams into one and do that weird upgrading missiles thing, because doing it that way makes missiles feel kind of useless. I don't have any problems with SM's controls.but since I've been playing it since I was 5 or 6, I'm not the best person for objectivity there. I'm sorry you don't like it on the base level that liking stuff is awesome and more fun than not liking stuff, but no judgment man. ![]() Attacking people for liking or disliking something is close to the stupidest thing I can think of short of getting into stuff about people who hate science, logic, reason, and common sense. Hey, Super Metroid is my favorite game of all time, but you are not required to like it, even if you love every other game in the series. Let the atmosphere soak in, and approach the navigation of the world as a puzzle. I can respect an unpopular opinion, I don't particularly like Ocarina of Time, but I really think you should give the game another try. I just don't get how you could have those problems when zero mission does almost everything you mentioned Super Metroid does. Other than that though the navigation is just the same as the rest of the game, especially once you have the gravity suit.Īs for the controls, they're not the same as Zero Mission, but they're perfect in their own right. You can learn to work with the sand controls, but they should be better. Once you get a new beam, you should have it equipped permanently. Same stuff happens in Zero Mission.Īs for cycling through weapons.you're not supposed to do that with anything other than missiles, again like you do in Zero Mission. When you find the power up that would allow you to reach that area, recalling the area's location is the skill of the game. ![]() Your're supposed to see places you clearly can't reach, and then store them in memory. The whole appeal of Metroid is that you don't always know where to go. The problems you listed with Super Metroid would still be "problems" in Zero Mission, those games are very similarly designed. It doesn't make sense how you can like Zero Mission but not Super Metroid.
